1. If I consume medication, can I take Magelax together with the medicine?
- We recommend taking Magelax 1 to 2 hours after taking any medications.
2. Will it cause diarrhea if I consume Magelax?
- Magnesium in the form of glycinate, as a matter of fact, has good absorption, and your body will be able to absorb it well. Therefore, it is gentle on the stomach and is less likely to cause undesirable side effects, such as diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, etc.
3. What’s the difference between magnesium glycinate and other forms?
Magnesium comes in several forms, and they’re not interchangeable. Magnesium oxide is the cheapest and most common form found in generic supplements, but it’s poorly absorbed and commonly causes a laxative effect. Magnesium citrate absorbs better than oxide, but can still cause digestive discomfort at higher doses for some people. Magnesium glycinate — the form used in Magelax — binds magnesium to the amino acid glycine, which allows for high absorption while being gentle on the stomach. This is why Magelax is formulated with glycinate rather than a cheaper alternative: it’s designed to be taken daily without the digestive side effects some other forms can cause.
